Brief Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God, our final authority for faith and conduct. 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet.1:21

2. We believe there is one God, Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Gen.1:1; Deut.6:4; Matt.3:16-17; Acts 15:28

3. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His present intercession and in His personal future return in power and glory. Jn.1:1; Col.1:15-17; Lk.1:34-35; Heb.7:26; Acts 2:22; 1 Pet.2:22; Lk.24:36-43; Rm.8:34; Mk. 13:26

4. We believe the only means of salvation for fallen humanity is the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, through repentance and faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, apart from works. Rom. 3:23, Jn.3:5-8, 16-18; Acts 20:21; Rm.3:25; Eph. 2:8

5. We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. Rm.6:11-14, 8:3-5; Gal.5:16-18

6. We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. Acts 1:8, 8:14-17, 9:17; 1 Cor.14:18; Acts10:44-46, 19:1-6; Eph.5:18

7. We believe in congregational governance of the local church, believer’s baptism, observance of the Lord’s Supper, and in the spiritual unity of all genuine believers in Christ. Matt.18:18-20, 28:19; 1 Cor.11:26; 1 Cor.12:18.

8. We believe in the rapture of the church before the outpouring of God’s wrath, the millennial reign of Christ, and the establishment by God of a new heavens and new earth. 1Thess.4:16, 17; 5:9, 10; Rev.20:1-4; 2 Pet.3:11-13; Rev.21:1-3

9. We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life, the other to everlasting damnation. Dan. 12:2; 1 Cor.15:51-53; Rev.20:12-15

10. We believe in the sanctity of marriage which is the faithful lifelong union of one man and one woman, the only divinely sanctioned relationship for physical intimacy, and in the sanctity of human life which begins at conception. Gen.1:27, 2:24; Matt.19:4-6; Heb.13:4; Psalm 139:13-16; Jer.1:5
