Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are we part of a denomination?

No, we belong to an association of some 900 independent congregations throughout the United States.

2. Are we a contemporary church?

No, we are Bible centered and non-liturgical. We still sing the old hymns as well as more modern worship songs. Our services are open to expressions of praise, testimonies and words of encouragement. These are NewTestament, not contemporary practices.

3. Are we a charismatic church?

We are charismatic in that we believe every true believer should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit still operates in power according to His will. We do reject unscriptural, manipulative, and unbalancedteachings, such as the popularized "health, wealth, and prosperity gospel."

4. Are we an "emerging" or "seeker sensitive" church?

No, such churches are trying to change the gospel and make it more palatable to unbelievers. We believe the gospel is God's unchanging message given once for all time, Jude 1:3. We do not need to changethe gospel, we trust God to change people by His Spirit, through His Word.

5. Do we have other meetings besides Sunday morning?

Yes, we have a weekly Bible study-prayer meeting, and a monthly family night. Times and locations are listed in our weekly bulletin.
